Lead E&I Engineer – Angola
This is an opportunity for you to join in our Luanda – Angola Shorebase and as Lead E&I Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for providing detailed input into the design of new projects; feedback lessons learned from existing Units into the design of new projects.
You will supervise and assist the Completions and Unit staff during energizing of equipment and commissioning during the start-up phase and go on to manage day-to-day maintenance of the offshore electrical systems.
On a Day to Day basis you will:
Report on deficiencies and posit remedial action. Priorities include maintaining critical safety systems and optimizing reliability and maintenance intervention costs. Support Electrical Supervisors with Technical and Maintenance guidance. Support Instrument Supervisors with Technical and Maintenance guidance. Support & advise ICSS Specialists including coordinating third party specialists. Ensure Fiscal Metering maintenance, calibration and certification integrity; Support Procurement with technical specifications and standards advice. Support Project and Shutdown Teams from design to post installation. Trouble shoot and diagnose offshore electrical, instrumentation technical issues. Compile preservation, energisation and commissioning data, Compile registers (Ex) of electrical equipment, reviewing technician performance, training and Ex competency. Participate in and verify commissioning activities related to electrical equipment (loop checks, etc) Perform Audits of offshore installations and regular site visits, supervision & support of onshore electrical engineers and technical participation in upgrade projects /shutdowns. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for major electrical equipment (switchgear, control panels, motors, alternators)
Job Requirements
To be suitable for this role you will need to have:
HNC/HND/BSc or equivalent standard in Electrical Engineering Experience of HV/LV electrical system design, maintenance & operation Practical knowledge of Permit To Work (PTW), Electrical Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment (RA), Power Management System, Power Generation on HV / LV. Experience of instrument selection, installation, calibration and diagnosis. Knowledge of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and IEC 60079 standards. Familiarity with office desktop packages and software-based maintenance systems Effective communication, report writing, organizational & analytical skills. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, effective team member and communicate effectively with offshore and onshore staff at all levels Ability to supervise, support and mentor engineers within the onshore team. Ability to travel internationally, including offshore facilities.
