SGS IN ANGOLA

SGS has operated in Angola since 1985 and currently has around 150 employees. We serve a wide range of industries, including oil (upstream and downstream), food hygiene and environment industries, qualified technician recruitment, collateral management and agriculture.

In Angola, we also specialize in drilling equipment inspection, lifting inspection, technical training, technical staffing services, onshore and offshore non-destructive testing (NDT), rope access, and equipment and consumables (dark rooms and radioactive sources).

We have also opened the only mechanical and metallurgical testing laboratory in the country. Accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2005, it is audited by leading oil suppliers and producers. The laboratory offers several mechanical testing services, such as: tension, impact, bending, compression, nick-break, PQR and WPOT, as well as Rockwell, Vickers and Micro Vickers, and Brinell hardness tests. Our metallurgical services include micro-structural assessment, macro testing, grain size determination, material polishing, percentage-of-ferrite content testing, and decarbonation.

In Angola, SGS is licensed by Angola Area Chamber of Commerce (AREA).
